Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers postponed a National Press Club event scheduled for Monday in Washington, D.C.

A Duke spokesperson says Rogers is very busy because of recent events with the Progress Energy merger.

Last Tuesday, Rogers testified before the North Carolina Utilities Commission about the last minute leadership change at the newly-merged company.

The commission wanted to know details behind the decision to reverse plans for Progress Energy Bill Johnson to head the expanded company.

In his testimony before the Utilities Commission, Rogers said the board had second thoughts about Johnson's ability to lead.

State law allows the Utilities Commission to rescind or alter its decision approving the merger.
