Considering the success "The Avengers" had in 3D, was there ever any doubt that the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies that followed would go the same route? "Iron Man 3" and "Thor: The Dark World" have already been confirmed in the format, and now "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" are getting the same 3D treatment.
Disney announced the news in a press release, and also confirmed both films' release dates. "The Winter Soldier" will "pick up where 'Marvel?s The Avengers' leaves off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world." "Guardians," on the other hand, "features an unlikely cast of characters who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions."
In other "Captain America" news, Sebastian Stan opened up in a new interview with Broadway.com about his return as Bucky Barnes in "The Winter Soldier." Unsurprisingly, he said he is thrilled to play the titular Winter Soldier.
"I?m completely excited to venture down that path. This is why January 1, 2013, was a glorious day to wake up to," he said with a laugh. "I?m very grateful and very lucky for what?s going on right now. I think you have to allow yourself to be excited about the magnitude of something like ['Captain America']."
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is due out on April 4, 2014, while "Guardians of the Galaxy" comes out on August 1, 2014.
